Looking at used stair lifts is a good idea for most people who want to install a stair lift in their home. Most stair lift manufacturers have new stair lifts starting at $2,000 and usually charge close to $3,000 for the whole installation process. If you are recovering from an accident, or there are another reasons you are not going to use this stair lift for a long time, choosing a used stair lift is definitely a very good idea. You can save from $500 to $2,000 buying a used stair lift instead of installing a brand new one.

There are two ways you can get a used stair lift installed in your home. The first is to look for stair lifts on the private market to buy, and then hire someone to install it. This is the cheapest option usually, especially if you know someone that can help you install the stair lift in your home for cheap. To find stair lifts for sale I suggest looking in newspapers, Craigslist and maybe on Ebay too. The second option is to buy a used stair lift with installation from a stair lift dealer. This is a little more expensive, but you have the security of knowing that it is being installed by someone who knows what they are doing.

If you’re planning to use your stair lifts for many years you should also consider maintenance costs when you decide between buying a new or a used stair lift. If the stair lift dealer gives you a warranty for the used stair lift it will generally be for a shorter period of time than it would be for a new stair lift, and if you choose to buy privately there will usually be no warranty at all. If the used stair lift you buy needs a lot of service, the cost of it may actually turn out to be higher than buying a brand new one.

In my opinion buying a brand new stair lift is the best option for elderly and disabled people who plan to use their lift for many years, while a used stair lift is the better option for people recovering from injuries who only plan to use it for a year or two.

Many people consider that to get pass the disability they have, they need to move to a single storey house, or even consider residential care. A stair lift can help you move easily throughout your own house and also to keep your independence at a reasonable cost.

Stair lifts are mechanical devices used to lift disabled people and wheelchairs, up and down the stairs. Basically it is a rail mounted to the treads of the stairs. A lifting platform, or sometimes a chair, is attached to the rail. The platform moves around the rail carrying the person up the stairs.

There are two kinds of stair lifts: standing and seated. The standing ones are usually used by persons without disabilities, elder people with joints problems, or by people who find it hard to climb stairs. This type of stair lift is also small and can be used in narrow stairways. The seated stair lift, used for wheelchairs, is for people who have a hard time standing up, are not allowed to stand up or by disabled people (using wheelchairs to move).

A great solution for people who need to move around the house, but cannot do this because of their disabilities, is handicap stair lifts. If a person has any disability than a stair lift is the answer to that person’s problem.

There are many reasons why people suffering from different affections or disabilities should use a stair lift:

Using the stairs is one of the most frequent causes of accidents around the house.

Elder people can reduce wear of their ankles, knees and other body joints, by using the stair lift.

The main reason disabled or elder people should use the stair lift is because it gives everybody the freedom to move around the house.

No matter what the reasons are, aging, illness or accidents, trying to walk up or down the stairs when you are losing your mobility is most of the times painful and dangerous. In some cases, climbing the stairs is actually impossible, because of the lack of mobility elder people suffer from. The stair lift will give you accessibility throughout the entire house.

All in all, stair lifts are a great invention helping elder, ill or disabled people to regain their mobility around their homes. It allows them to use the stairs, at a reasonable cost, in a safe and relaxing way, without wearing their joints anymore.

Dolphin Stairlifts is a UK stair lift supplier. They have many branches in both UK and Ireland, in fact more local branches than any other stair lift company in this area. Dolphin Stairlifts have branches covering London, the South East, Kent, East Midlands, Manchester and the North West. In addition there are 20 other branches covering the UK and Ireland.

Dolphin Stairlifts are approved as agents for most of the major stair lift manufacturers, like Stannah Stair Lifts, Minivator Stairlifts, Bison Stairlifts, Meditek Stairlifts and Freelift Stairlifts. Dolphin Stairlifts was established in 1990 so they now have 20 years of experience installing stair lifts in peoples homes. The company’s objective is to give people honest advice to find the most suitable stair lift for their situation.

They have a wide variety of stair lifts they can install for you. They have several types of the standard straight stair lifts and curved stair lifts. They also have special lifts like the swimming pool lift, rise recliner chairs, wheelchair lifts, bath lifts, step lifts, access lifts, ceiling track hoists and portable hoists. Having this wide a variety of equipment chances are they can fit most peoples individual needs.

Dolphin Stairlifts also have a special internet only offer on new stairlifts right now. They can install the new Meditek stair lift for only £1395. The same goes for the new Minivator Simplicity 950 Series stairlift. When it comes to the Meditek stair lift their internet offer would be a saving of £300 on normal price. Both these stair lifts are of high quality and to me this seems like a very good offer, one of the best out there at the time of this writing.

MediTek is a stair lift manufacturer with offices both in the UK and the US. They have been designing and manufacturing stair lifts for more than 15 years, and they are one of the pioneers of the industry. They say at their website that they believe MediTek is the only stair lift manufacturer that puts the customer at the heart of its business practice. They have a wide range of stair lifts to choose from and it seems their prices are fairly low.

Their standard stair lift, for homes with a straight flight of stairs, can take weight up to 160 kilo. The price for a standard straight stair lift start at about $1,400. They also have curved stair lifts, but those are a bit more expensive. The curved stair lifts starts at about $4,000 for a fully fitted one. If you need a stair lift for outdoors, or maybe down to your cellar, they got an external lift model. This stair lift is suitable for stairs that are exposed to the elements. Some people have a difficulty sitting or bending their knees, and MediTek has stair lifts designed especially for that. They are called stand and perch stair lifts and come only for straight stairs.

The stair lifts from MediTek can be controlled both with joysticks and remote controls. When it comes to remote controls they have several types, both hand held remotes and wall mounted ones. If your stair lift happens to hit any obstruction it will automatically stop. Pressure sensitive edges are used to ensure this happens. It seems MediTek really values safety when producing their stair lifts.

A stair lift is usually controlled from the chair or platform. You can choose to go up and down, the speed of the lift and putting in on break. Usually it would be some kind of joystick that you move up and down. Many stair lifts also have remote controls that you can use to move the elevator up and down. The advantage of this is that you can use the stair lift to move items up and down the stairs. For elderly and disabled persons this is a great advantage. It is also useful to be able to move the chair down to you from a distance so it’s already there when you reach the stairs.

There are several different types of stair lifts. The most common type we find in private homes is the straight rail stair lift. As the name indicates this is a stair lifts used for straight stairs. These are cheapest types of stair lifts and usually costs from $2000 to $4000 to install in your home. You can get several types of configurations for these, and the costs depends a lot on that. You can get them both with a seat and a platform for a wheelchair, the platform type is usually more expensive though.

The curved rail stair lifts are used in curved stairs and are a bit more costly. They usually have to be specially manufactured to suit the individual situation. Curved stairs comes in many different types and shapes so it often invovels careful measurement and design to install such a curved stair lift.

Wheelchair platform stair lifts are usually a much heavier construction than a regular stair lift. Wheelchairs can be quite heavy, so a wheelchair platform stair lift have to be able to handle this load. There are advantages to these though, because the user don’t have to have one wheel chair for each floor of his home.

A stairlift is a device for helping people getting up and down stairs who are not able to walk. For big stairs this means a rail which is mounted to the threads of the stairs. On this rail there would be a platform where you can place your wheelchair and move up the stair sitting in your wheelchair. For smaller stairs it is usually bot possible to mount rails directly to the threads. A design of stair lifts often used in this case is the rail connected to the site of the stairs or the wall. On to this rail we connect a chair and a motor. Usually you can not get your wheelchair onto this type of stair lift, you would need to get out of your wheelchair and sit down in this chair.

There are other names you might see used to describe this type of equipment like chair lifts and stair gliders. These are the same thing, and should not be confused by the chair lifts used by skiers. The first stair lifts were produced in the US in the 1930s. These were produced by the Inclinator Company of America mostly to polio victims. Today stair lifts are used both by disabled people, elderly people and people in general who have problems walking in stairs.
