If you’re planning to use your stair lifts for many years you should also consider maintenance costs when you decide between buying a new or a used stair lift. If the stair lift dealer gives you a warranty for the used stair lift it will generally be for a shorter period of time than it would be for a new stair lift, and if you choose to buy privately there will usually be no warranty at all. If the used stair lift you buy needs a lot of service, the cost of it may actually turn out to be higher than buying a brand new one.
